Apologies for the lack of updates lately, my only excuse being an excess of train journeys, openings and private views. It's SO tough basking in Rob's glory... Well now, it's your last chance tomorrow to see Rob's amazing show at The Air Gallery but still plenty of time to get to the Shire Hall Gallery in Stafford for another major exhibition of new work. The show in Stafford was opened by Carol Ann Duffy who Rob has collaborated with on two brand new books. 'ANOTHER NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS' and 'THE GIFT' both available in Ryantown now. There are also some incredible new ceramics on show in Stafford, and because I was pretty rubbish at taking my camera out of my pocket let alone take photographs on the night, I recommend you take a look

Also BRAND NEW in the shop tomorrow is this amazing silk scarf Rob designed in collaboration with NV London Calcutta , an ethical accessories company run by Naomi Cornelius-Reid. The silk is hand-spun in a small village in West Bengal and then hand-screen printed in Calcutta using non-toxic inks. The scarf measures an incredible 2.5 metres long and is absolutely beautiful. Better put it on your christmas list now.

Here are the dates for the upcoming Columbia Road Christmas Wednesdays. If you have never come along to the street during this time before, put it in your diary now. These late nights are such a lot of fun, and are getting more and more popular with each year. And in keeping with ( Ryantown ) seasonal tradition, a welcome shot of vodka awaits you!

Personally I LOVE christmas. I love pretty much everything about it, mince pies, christmas cake, especially the marzipan ( and everybody else's rejected marzipan ), the tree, the dark streets all lit up with twinkling lights, watching The Sound of Music. Again. I love all of it. But the best bit has got to be the stocking at the end of the bed on christmas morning, filled to bursting with little tissue wrapped surprises. It goes without saying that there are always plenty of surprises to be had in Ryantown but how about this BRAND NEW one.
