Columbia Road Christmas Wednesdays

The Columbia Road Late Night Wednesday openings start TOMORROW!!

As well as our usual weekend opening hours we will be open for the next four Wednesday evenings from 5pm until 9pm.

Columbia Road Trees

Christmas!! Still feels a bit early for me... but I have to admit I walked very slowly through Columbia Road on Sunday morning breathing in the gorgeous scent of these pine trees.

DOG OF THIS WEEKEND

We haven't had many four legged visitors lately, so we were delighted to welcome Anatole on Sunday. He was a frisky little thing running around the shop in his high visibility jacket, yapping away.

I was caught a little off guard as he stopped suddenly to sit still when he saw me get my camera.....and totally thrown when he tipped his head to pose just as my finger went to press the button!

And talking of things Christmassy...

...we're not quite there yet, but it's on our minds. It wont be long now until the Christmas Late Night Wednesday openings along Columbia Road, starting on Wednesday 30th November.

In the meantime, we do have just a few packs of these hand screen printed Christmas Cards available in Ryantown only.

Paper Cranes

I was in Selfridges today and noticed the paper cranes that were cascading from the atrium, looking pretty and christmassy.

Reminded me of the origami birds that graced our window last spring, all carefully cut and folded from sheets of the wrapping paper that we sell in the shop.

BRAND NEW LASER CUT

We have a brand new laser cut in Ryantown, the biggest one we have ever had, approximately 59cm wide x 39cm high.

"We promise by the spirits of all the birds that have ever been, that are and ever will be, that we will care for this child. Every feather, every bone and every beak is precious to us and every bird in our small community and to the greater family of all the birds. We promise to keep the egg safe. We promise to keep the child safe. We promise to help this small, small bird in this big, big world"

A signed and numbered edition of 250 and priced at £360.

DOG OF THIS WEEKEND

...when I was growing up I'm sure all dogs looked like this, a bit of an urban mix.
This is Lucky, a three year old rescue dog, and without a doubt, our dog of the weekend!
Pretty gorgeous and perfectly happy to be fussed over by Kei and I for a while.

Cake of The Week

We had a pretty busy weekend.

It was really nice to see so many familiar faces, and lots of new ones, at the book signing on Saturday. I balk at the very idea of even going south of the river, so for those who travelled from Portsmouth and other such places, thank you!!

I rushed to the shop without any breakfast on Sunday morning but this fudgy muffin and about a gallon of tea from the ever cheery Bev in
Cafe Columbia managed to keep me going for the morning.
