We're really pleased to be listed in Time Out London's best shops for another year. A very nice way to welcome in 2013.

Stanley

And the very lovely Stanley came back to see us, wearing another amazing coat from his pretty impressive wardrobe...

Maximus

Next up is Maximus, a wire haired miniature dachshund. He was pretty happy and relaxed on our counter, and Louise and I just totally fell in love with him.

Oscar and Willoughby

We had such a great weekend - so many amazing dogs!! How gorgeous are these two - Oscar and Willoughby.

Hand Painted Jugs

We have two beautiful hand painted jugs in Ryantown this weekend.

Total exclusives to the shop, these two amazing jugs were painted by Rob for his recent exhibition at Charleston.

A very special addition to someone's collection...or a very special Christmas present maybe...?!

Ryantown is Open Tonight!!

It's the second of the four Wednesday late night openings along Columbia Road tonight.

Ryantown, along with lots of other small and independent shops and businesses will be open between 5pm and 9pm. And as always we will have plenty of treats in store for you...

Oscar and Daphne

It seems like a long time since I posted a picture of a four legged visitor. I'm usually not quite quick enough...

But Oscar and the very serene Daphne were just too lovely to let pass by without a photograph last weekend.

East End Trades Guild

We are very proud to be members of the newly formed East End Trades Guild which is a new co-operative of small independent proprietor owned and run businesses in the East End.

You'll see the logo, designed by another East End Trades Guild member  James Brown in our window and popping up in lots of other windows in the area too!

There was a fantastic launch at Christ Church, Spitalfields on Monday night which you can read all about HERE!

Columbia Road Christmas Wednesdays

I actually can't believe it's this time of year again...already! The ever popular Columbia Road Christmas Wednesdays start in one weeks time!

In the run up to Christmas, the shops and businesses along Columbia Road, mostly only open at the weekends, will also be opening between 5pm and 9pm on Wednesday evenings starting on November 28th.

Columbia Road is one of the few streets in London composed entirely of independent shops and as such is a wonderful place to discover products not found on the high street and at the same time support small and local businesses.

Sarah Lippett at Ryantown

Very occasionally we hand over the wall space in Ryantown to an artist whose work Rob particularly admires. This time we are very excited to be showing the work of illustrator Sarah Lippett in the shop between 10th November and 18th November.  Sarah is currently studying for her masters at the Royal College of Art.

Sarah makes the most beautiful ceramics in collaboration with the potter Emma Gaston, some of which will be for sale in Ryantown alongside her pencil drawings and prints.

Please do come along and take a look!

Its an incredibly special day here at the studio as its ROB'S 50TH BIRTHDAY!!! As the majority of us are big Harry Potter fans (Rob especially), we decided to lay out a Great Hall spread as a surprise.... Jackie made some incredible hand-painted banners, Libby made the Sorting Hat cake and everybody chipped in to make the table look incredible and cook a brilliant Roast Chicken lunch in our tiny kitchen. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROB!!!!!

Alice and I and our stomach's were pretty pleased when we got this blood curdling gift yesterday from one of our favourite regular visitors. Went down very well with a cup of tea.

There is a lovely piece about Rob's show at Charleston Gallery, on Spitalfields Life. Beautifully written, as always, and with photographs that make me want to jump on the train immediately and get back down there.

You can read the the whole thing, and previous posts about Rob if you click here!

New Mugs

The collection of mugs available in the shop, which are all printed by hand in the studio, is growing ever bigger. A bit like our range of tiles, which is pretty huge now.

This weekend we had a few new 'ASTONISH ME!' mugs, in various shades of blue and some just in black.

Columbia Road Flowers

The market was lively, and lovely yesterday. Really spoilt for choice when it came to flowers, but I chose these beauties.

Something New Every Week

There is, as always, such a lot going on. Rob's show in Charleston has been extended until October 28th, the work for the show in New York is all in crates and ready to go and the most incredible paper cut for the show in Manchester is about to be framed.

In between time everyone at the studio tries very hard to provide one or two new things for the shop each week. Sometimes it's a brand new print or piece of ceramics, and sometimes it might be a card, a mug or cushion in a new colourway. The cards we sell are all hand screen printed, cut, folded and packaged in the studio. The tiles, mugs, money boxes, egg cups and plates are all printed by hand, as are the bags and cushions. A real labour of love!

Most of the things we have in the shop are either signed and numbered limited editions, very small runs or complete one off's. At the moment we also have these, a handful of plates in sampled colours.
