Here are the dates for the upcoming Columbia Road Christmas Wednesdays. If you have never come along to the street during this time before, put it in your diary now. These late nights are such a lot of fun, and are getting more and more popular with each year. And in keeping with ( Ryantown ) seasonal tradition, a welcome shot of vodka awaits you!

Personally I LOVE christmas. I love pretty much everything about it, mince pies, christmas cake, especially the marzipan ( and everybody else's rejected marzipan ), the tree, the dark streets all lit up with twinkling lights, watching The Sound of Music. Again. I love all of it. But the best bit has got to be the stocking at the end of the bed on christmas morning, filled to bursting with little tissue wrapped surprises. It goes without saying that there are always plenty of surprises to be had in Ryantown but how about this BRAND NEW one. Hot on the heels of 'The Gift', comes another Rob Ryan and Carol Ann Duffy book, 'Another Night Before Christmas'. We have copies in the shop tomorrow at £4.99 each. Just the right size to slip in your pocket.... or into the stocking of someone special.

So, it's goodbye to the Jazmine Miles - Long exhibition that has been up in Ryantown for the past few weeks. We had an incredible response to her beautiful work from visitors to the shop, so thank you Jazmine. And thank you also to the little boy who came by to donate his conkers to our window display! Next weekend our walls will be filled to bursting point with rob's prints and papercuts again.
...our dog of the week this week has got to be sleepy Otto, a beautiful hungarian vizsla, who has an equally gorgeous older sister, Birdy, who wouldn't keep still long enough for an in-focus photograph ( though me and Birdy are old friends and she is my favourite dog in the whole world, so maybe next time ).

Also new in the shop this weekend will be these lovely foil blocked cards designed by Rob for Roger La Borde, and featured recently in a pop up installation at Liberty's during London Design Week.
As well as the show coming up in Stafford which will feature papercuts from Carol Ann Duffy's new book 'The Gift' ( available in Ryantown now ), Rob has been super busy preparing for a second solo show opening next month in London. Details for the show at The Air Gallery can be found HERE . In the meantime we have these lovely flyers with details of both shows in the shop just to remind you.

'Your Job Is To Take This World Apart And Then Put It Back Together Again... But Even Better!!!' ....what lovely new tape we have in the shop this weekend. Rob designed this tape to coincide with an exhibition of the same name that he is having at the Shire Hall Gallery in Stafford from 13th November. The show will be a wonderful selection of all new ceramics and papercuts. More details HERE

There was an endless stream of people tapping the Ryantown shop window at the weekend, all attempting to rouse this beautiful mallard which is lying peacefully in the corner. The mallard is part of the exhibition by Jazmine Miles-Long we have on at Ryantown at the moment. If you'd like to find out more about Jazmine and her work there is a wonderful profile of her today on Spitalfields Life

What a beautiful weekend in London. It was all sunshine and smiles along Columbia Road on Sunday. We had a long awaited delivery of a wonderful new book, 'The Gift'. A collaboration between Rob and Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. Life, love and art... this book is certain to become as loved by all as 'This is For You'.
More images from the book and information about Rob's two forthcoming solo exhibitions to come soon.

When you walk into Ryantown over the next three weekends you will be able to enjoy the work of artist and ethical taxidermist Jazmine Miles-Long, who has installed a very beautiful show in the shop alongside Rob's work. Here are a few photographs from last last night's private view taken by Charlie, aged 9, self appointed 'photo-boy' of the evening. The lovely Jazmine smiling and standing on the right in the last photograph.

All of us Ryantowners are excited to be showing the work of the delightful Jazmine Miles-Long in the shop from this Saturday. Jazmine is an ethical taxidermist and sculptor who works only with animals that have died from natural causes. We will be showing a few of her pieces in the shop alongside our usual shop stock from Saturday 9th October until Sunday 24th October. Try not to miss it!

We have a fantastic red, white and blue edition of this fantastic board Rob has designed for Lovenskate in Ryantown right now. A limited edition of only 20, they are flying out, so you'd better be quick.

I'm more than a bit sad that summer is well and truly over, and all hope of an indian summer has faded away. But never mind, christmas is just around the corner!! And in the meantime you can snuggle up at home and wile away the hours with this lovely tapestry kit, a collaboration between Rob and Emily Peacock. Or put it on your christmas list. Available now from Ryantown, Rob's online shop on etsy or from Emily Peacock
